What matters at this venue
A baseball outfield is the hardest windscreen job on most campuses. The fence is long, it runs across open ground, and the screen has to do two things that fight each other: give hitters a dark, unbroken backdrop, and let enough air through that spring wind does not peel it off the rail.
That is why the default here is an 89% open mesh rather than the highest blockage we make. It reads as a solid dark wall from the box, but it bleeds gusts instead of catching them. Facilities that step up to 95% are usually doing it for a batter's eye panel or a sponsor graphic, a short braced section, not the whole outfield.
Backdrop before privacy
Ball visibility is the reason the screen exists. Dark colors and consistent weave matter more than blockage percentage.
Wind is what ends panels
Nearly every mid-season failure we see starts at a grommet on an exposed run, not in the middle of the fabric.
